My Effectory Portal

Effectory facilitates ongoing employee feedback collection, turning it into actionable people analytics and uses this data to enhance productivity, engagement, and retention strategies. My Effectory had separate portals that needed to be merged into a single one. To support this, I redesigned its navigation structure and adapted the visual style of the platform to the updated navigation.

Navigation selection

During the first few days, I met the product owners and asked them what their experience was with the current state of different platforms. This helped me to better understand why we are solving the problem. To see what else is available in the landscape of employee feedback platforms, I asked for a list of competitors. From this list, I could easily see similarities and differences in how the information structure was put together.

With the internal design team, we discussed which navigation structure had the best user experience. The main requirements were that it had to be easily recognisable, expandable and have a logical menu hierarchy.

Exploring the new direction

Once the navigation was approved, I explored a few concepts that would support the new visual direction. As the style of one of the redesigned platforms was too bold, Effectory was looking for a lighter approach.

Connecting the pages visually

The client needed a better idea of what certain interactions and page transitions would look like. So I designed a number of prototypes. This included one where a new survey is set up.

Creating the library

Now that the client had approved the visual concept, I was able to port the style to their existing pattern library. Both internal designers and development can use this to continue iterating or have new components based on this updated style.

Rounding up

The project lasted six weeks. During these weeks I was able to do some good research on what the customer needed with the problem they were addressing. The meetings and presentations I gave kept everyone involved informed of the status of the project. Afterwards, the client has good tools for further development.
